Reviewing Existing Animation - Silent Animation - Tom and Jerry

Silent Animation – Tom and Jerry Dog Trouble

The mouse in this shot is very wary about the trap and his body language and facial expressions shows this as he is tip-toeing and aware of where the trap is and the consequences if he falls or touches it.

In this shot, the cat looks like he is scared of what may happen to his whisker as he falls away. He is backing away as he wants to be away from the pain he’s about to endure.

Facial expressions of both characters express feelings. The cat is looking happy at the prospect of eating the mouse. The mouse looks very scared at the fact he may be eaten. The paw of the cat is in shot to show he is ready to pounce. The body language of the mouse shows he wants to stop and run in the opposite direction.

The dog is asleep in this shot and his facial expression shows he is oblivious to things around him. His body language is still intimidating however as well as his facial expressions as his teeth are still showing and the spikes on his neck. The mouse is again scared and body language shows he is terrified. The position in the air exaggerates his feelings that he wants to get away as quick as possible.
