Reviewing Existing Animation - Magic Box

Story: Two children playing with toys outside. One gets jealous of the other one with his toy. He asks to play with it and gets a fright when it’s an ‘x-ray’ lens.
Characters: One character seems happy enough playing with an action figure until he hears the other character laughing and enjoying himself very much. He then gets jealous and upset when he cannot play with his toy. The other character seems very happy and is enjoying himself, we can see this through is happy facial expressions and the giggling sound he is making. Furthermore, his body language shows that he is happy as he is open and is moving around a lot.
Misce en scene:
The lighting is very bright creating a harmless, light hearted atmosphere. This is because it involves children playing and enjoying theirselves.
The child’s clothing is very basic and childlike, for example, a baseball cap and dungarees. This conveys a light hearted atmosphere and reiterates the child-like story. This represents children in their stereotypical outfits.
The setting is in a garden, furthermore suggesting the children playing genre.
The facial expressions of one of the children changes from happy to sad. This happens by his eyebrows lowering on his face to just above his eyes, his eyes becoming wider and rounder and his mouth becoming closed and now smiling. When he is sad he is being shouted at by his friend and he looks shocked. The child shouting has an aggressive facial look. The features of his face such as his eyebrows are higher than usual on his face. Furthermore, his eyes are smaller and squinting whilst his mouth is wide open when shouting.

The body language of both children is playful. They are waving their hands around and rolling about whilst enjoying theirselves. However when one of them is being shouted at he is slumped down with a closed expression. This conveys a sad emotion that he is being bullied by his friend.
The props used in the short film are, toys, trees, benches, fences. This creates the freedom that children have to play outside and have fun but also the parental guard with the fence.
Camera Angles: The main camera angles that we see in the short films is a closed up to show expression on their faces.
