From try to experiment with our filming we hit a few problems using the programe 'Animater d.v' this is  free programe and had good feeback on the website. the problems that we had at first that even though we were only takeing two frames per second, we found that when we played it back that it would fast forward really fast. we tried to concore this problem by taking more frames. This would have worked if the programe then didnt keep freezer. every time we would go to use this computer there would be a fresh problem with the programe. We then  decided to change programes to 'stop motion pro' we have only tried the free trial. So far. So good.

Radio Advert Research

The video below holds audio of several radio adverts, including a film radio trailer.

We also completed this table after listening to a few existing radio trailers.

Pre Production Animation

I have uploaded Mad Dog Productions Presents Point of Que Animation Pre-Production Teaser Trailer to YouTube. In order to do this i had to use a converter program to convert the film into a file that YouTube can upload.

Using Technology To Reach Audience

Today i created a YouTube account to post our productions. This will allow us to gain a wide range of audience feedback and create a brand image.

Planning Process. 2. (The start of the action)

After are decsion to go with models we would have to use New Plast (plastisine) that we would build and create the characters ourself first after sketching down some ruff ideas we decided to go for making them. one of the problems that we faced was that because it was expensive was that we would have to use it sparingly however it turned out we had more than we bargined for.

Planning Process.

From are starting point we did not have any Initial ideas, as we firstly considerd how hard it would be to plan and create a completely new story.
we realised after a crash course in animation  at the bbc studies from experimenting what would work and which would not. i decided to experiment with clay and Tom with cut out pictures. this is when we discussed the possibilty of use plastinsine as alot of research that we had done on eailer animation (british) was 'Wallace and Gromit' and 'Chicken run'. We decided look further in to this. however as we still did not have a story or story line we thought more research would be more helpful. it was not untill we came across one production piece called 'baby dogs' the initial idea of dogs talking and behaving like normal humans really sold to us and the fact that they were playing pool really spoke to us. And from that point we were no longer Snookerd for an idea.  (Alex)

Animation Filming

Today we experienced problems with the 'Animation DV Simple+' software. This has caused us to lose time in filming.

Film Poster Analysis

Today we analysed a film poster. Taking into consideration facial expression, body language, conventions of a film poster. This will aid us in creating a better film poster for our animation.

Animation Poster

Today in lesson we looked at existing film posters and the conventions of these. This will help us when we come to designing our own poster.
The images below show the two drafts we made of our poster. Alex designed the first one and i designed the second. We then combined the ideas we thought where best and are now in the process of creating the final poster on Adobe Photoshop.

Planning Stages

The drawing of the characters was left down to Alex as i am not the best of drawers. However, i did still have input in the characters. We used most of our inspiration from conforming to stereotypes and using the colour of the balls in order to match their character. I took more of a part in writing the script but we both looked on the internet for jokes that we could use in our animation. A Website We Looked On For Blonde Jokes
We also paid a visit to the BBC studios for a workshop on animation. We experienced how the software that we are going to use works and made a short animation film. This gave us experience and in the long run probably improved our animation. At the work shot we learnt mainly about 'Stop Motion'and the process that it takes to create this type of animation. We created a football penalty situation from the Champions League final 2007. We had a problem with creating a 2D/3D effect but eventually learnt how to create this effect. We also learnt how to use technology such as 'Pro Animate' to record our animation and 'Garage Band' to add music. We also learnt that generally, producers use 25 frames per second. We now know how many frames it will take a 5 minute animation. 21CC BBC Animation Website
In class we also worked on facial expressions and body language and used worksheets to help us understand the importance of these features. I learnt that faial expressions are very hard to portray using new-plast. We therefore decided not to use facial expressions in our animation 'Point of Que'.
