New Filming Software

Today we began filming with a new software program. Stop Motion Pro v7 is the program we will now be using to film our animation on. From using it for the first time it seems very easy to use and we hope that it will contribute to the success of our production.

Further Poster Improvements

After displaying our poster in a classroom for a few weeks we gathered further feedback. We was told that the title needed to be clearer in order for it to stand out. We therefore but an outline around the text and made the text look embossed. We also was told that "FIVE STARS 'ANIMATION WORLD'" was better than "***** SAYS ANIMATION WORLD" so we changed this. The changes can be seen in the image below:

Radio Trailer

Today we completed our radio trailer. We managed to produce it within a week. We used microphones and audacity software in order to record it. Then we used the internet to gather sound effects such as laughter, a crow noise to represent a pub and a background effect that made it sound like an animation as the radio trailer cannot convey the genre as there are no pictures of characters. We then exported the file as a WAV file so that it can be played on any program.

Poster Improved

The scanned image below shows our original draft of our poster that we hand drew.

After hearing our audience feedback we decided to incorporate some ideas into our poster. Therefore we changed the colour of the background to make it green to look like a snooker table. We also went on to the website ‘www.dafont.com’ to get new font for the writing. We decided to get the way our title was done in as we found that it was effective enough. Also we made our main character (The Major) bigger so to draw more attention to the front, to show status in the characters. We also added pockets at the edges of the poster and down the sides to make the poster resemble a snooker table. This looks effective because it shows more in terms of setting. Also we changed the lay out of our characters to make them look not so spaced out. Also with the lay out we concentrated more to give it more of a triangle effect to resemble snooker pools.

Poster Feedback

Today we showed our poster to the rest of the class.

They provided us with the following feedback that we will take into consideration.
·         Title/Slogan/Review
o   Fonts need to be changed to more cartoon like. (we will look on www.dafont.com for these fonts.)
o   Position of title needs to be considered to draw audience.
·         The main character needs to be made more obvious.
·         There is too much blank space on the poster.
·         Add other details of snooker table:
o   Triangle.
o   Pockets.
